Privacy Policy

My Bible Companion is designed as a local-first Bible study app. We do not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or track users across apps or websites.

Data Stored On Your Device

The app may store bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading history, memory verse practice data, Bible settings, AI chat history, downloaded Bible resources, and Builder documents on your device. This data is used to provide the app's study features.

Optional Cloud Sync

If you enable cloud sync, supported study data such as bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading history, memory verse data, settings, Builder documents, and saved AI study conversations may sync through your private cloud account. On Android, this uses the app-data area of your Google Drive account. On Apple platforms, this uses your private iCloud account. Cloud sync is optional and controlled by your Google or Apple account settings. AI API keys are not synced.

The app does not send synced study data to a My Bible Companion developer server. Google or Apple processes cloud data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Optional AI Features

AI study features are optional and require you to provide your own API key for a supported AI provider. When you choose to use AI, selected Bible text and your questions may be sent directly to the AI provider you selected so that the provider can generate a response. AI providers process those requests under their own terms and privacy policies.

Do not enter sensitive personal information into AI prompts. AI responses can make mistakes and should be checked against Scripture and trusted study resources.

API Keys

AI API keys are stored securely on your device using platform-provided secure storage. On Android, keys are encrypted with Android Keystore-backed encryption and the encrypted key store is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. On Apple platforms, keys use platform secure storage. AI keys are not included in cloud sync.

Account and Data Deletion

My Bible Companion does not require a separate developer account or app account to use the core app. If you connect Google Drive Sync, you can disconnect the Google account from the app and remove the app's stored Drive data from your Google account. To request help removing any remaining synced data or to ask a privacy question, email support@mybiblecompanion.ai with the subject Account deletion request.

Third-Party Resources

The app may link to external Bible study resources, videos, articles, or AI provider websites. Opening external links may be subject to the privacy policies and terms of those third-party websites or services.
